Steve and I took an online cooking class to watch this being prepared. We made it the next day. Steve said it was a keeper recipe. Serve with Bok Choi and side of white rice.
Carmelized Miso Salmon
ingredients
- 1/4Cup
Pure maple syrup
- 1/4Cup
White miso (or Tahini)
- 1/4Cup
Soy Sauce
- 1/4Cup
Unseasoned rice vinegar
- 1/4Teaspoon
Crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4Cup
High heat oil (vegetable or canola)
- 24Ounces
Salmon fillets, boneless
Salt to taste
instructions
Preheat broiler.
Whisk together maple syrup, miso, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper.
Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium/high heat.
Season salmon with salt and place in the skillet.
Cook for 4-5 minutes, until the salmon is a bit crispy.
Baste the top of the salmon with the glaze, and cook 2-3 more minutes.
Remove the skillet from the heat and place it under the broiler. Cook until the glaze gets sticky and the salmon is cooked through (about 2 more minutes).
